Professor Alasdair MacLullich is a geriatrician and delirium researcher at the University of Edinburgh. His work focuses on recognising, assessing and improving care for delirium, including the 4AT assessment tool. He is Editor-in-Chief of Delirium and Chair of the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit.
Professor Alasdair MacLullich is Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and works clinically in acute geriatric medicine and acute orthogeriatrics at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. His research centres on the recognition, assessment and care of people with delirium. He led the original development of the 4AT delirium assessment tool in 2011 and remains responsible for its updates. He co-founded the European Delirium Association, is Editor-in-Chief of Delirium, and chairs the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit. His wider work includes clinical education, public information and writing about delirium.
