Professor Alasdair MacLullich is a geriatrician and delirium researcher at the University of Edinburgh. His work covers delirium recognition, assessment and care, including the 4AT. He is Editor-in-Chief of Delirium and Chair of the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit.
Professor Alasdair MacLullich is Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and works clinically in acute geriatric medicine and acute orthogeriatrics at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. His research centres on the recognition, assessment and care of people with delirium. He originally designed the 4AT delirium assessment tool with Tracy Ryan and Helen Cash in 2011, and remains responsible for its updates. He co-founded the European Delirium Association, is Editor-in-Chief of Delirium, and chairs the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit. His wider work includes clinical education, public information and writing about delirium.
